Since its establishment in 1985, IMA Group Co., Ltd. has served many trusted travel agencies, excellent business firms, and conscientious consumers who love to travel as customers.
We originated as a wholesale travel agency that provided local travel agencies in Japan that dealt with exhibitors at trade fairs held mainly in Europe and the United States, and attendees at medical congresses and/or academic conferences.

TRAVELMART® is a physical one, not an OTA. Unlike many travel booking sites that are completed only on the web, our motto is to operate with a human touch. We are a rare travel provider in that our in-house staff of travel specialists closely monitors and operates everything from the time when travelers apply us to the time their travel in Japan are completed. In March 2011, after the incredible Earthquake and Tsunami that struck the Tohoku(Northeastern) region of Japan, we moved from Nagoya(one of the most major city in Japan located in central Japan) to Aizu-wakamatsu in Fukushima Pref., known as SAMURAI CITY, with the hope of Fukushima's recovery, and then established a new brand named TRAVELMART® for our DMC business. (TRAVELMART is a registered trademark of our travel business in Japan.)
TRAVELMART® provides travel arrangements for visiting Japan travelers and is especially recommending a travel to the TOHOKU(=Northeastern) region in Japan.
The TOHOKU region is an area that consists of seven prefectures (Aomori Prefecture, Iwate Prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture, Akita Prefecture, Yamagata Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture, and Niigata Prefecture). It is located in the northeastern part to the northernmost tip of Japan's largest island, Honshu Island and is surrounded by the Sea of Japan, the Pacific Ocean. It is also well known for its countryside, mountains, lakes, hot springs, high quality rice and rough winters. In addition, the TOHOKU region is one of the most historical/traditional regions in Japan, and is blessed with romantic and stunning views and many mysterious spots. It is also home to spectacular powder snow ski courses, golf, rafting, fishing, horseback riding and other sports activities. It occupies about 30 percent of the area of Honshu Island.
In the TOHOKU region, there are airports and JR Shinkansen stations in each prefecture. When entering Japan from major airports, such as Narita International Airport, you can use Tohoku Shinkansen, Joetsu Shinkansen, Yamagata Shinkansen and Hokkaido Shinkansen lines from JR Tokyo Station, or a domestic airline route from Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport) and easily get to Tohoku region. Moreover, there are many overseas regular airline services to the airports in Tohoku mainly to Sendai Airport.
As stated above, the TOHOKU region was hit by the incredible big earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011 and the ensuing nuclear accident. However, all areas of the TOHOKU region are now safe and almost of all attractions reopened already. The Tohoku Region revived from dameges of big earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident and will be welcoming many travelers as past.
Just FYI, we will be able to arrange a visit to the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident site and related locations caused by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami called Great EastJapan Earthquake. (It may sound scary, but this experience is simply not available anywhere else in the world.)
We can also cater for medical tourism, including medical checkups at hospital with the best medical technology and facilities in Japan, and treatment at Proton Beam Therapy Center in hospital, which treats cancer without surgery and is gentle on the body.. Guests can enjoy a visit Japan travel with family or couple in between and/or after checkups and treatments. (Note: this type of medical tourism can be quite expensive.)
In Japan, real estate in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka is very expensive, but outside of those cities, real estate in the countryside is surprisingly inexpensive. If the visit Japan travelers are thinking about owning a home in Japan, but don't worry if they don't plan to live there often or at all, we will maintain and manage their valuable assets and prepare their stay as if they are staying in a 5-star hotel. As such, we can also arrange visit Japan travel to the guests interested in acquiring real estates in Japan.
In addition, we also provide consulting services for relocating to Japan.

Some people travel abroad without purchasing travel insurance, using only the overseas travel insurance provided by their credit card, or without purchasing any insurance at all. However, if hospitals in other countries cannot confirm that traveler has insurance, traveler may not be able to receive treatment, and in severe cases this could be life-threatening. If traveler is traveling with TRAVELMART®, be sure to purchase overseas travel insurance in his/her home country before entering Japan and provide us the detail of own overseas travel insurance prior to entering Japan. That way, we can keep track of it, and in the unlikely event that an unforeseen accident occurs, we can provide perfect support to our client.
